Volunteers
Be part of the Bass Coast Edible Gardens experience! Volunteers are the backbone of our event, helping to bring our community together and ensuring success.
We are seeking volunteers for the Bass Coast Edible Gardens weekend on 8 and 9 February 2025. Want to make a difference and enjoy the weekend? Read more about how you can get involved!
Your role
Volunteers will welcome visitors at the front gate of each garden. They will check and sell entry tickets, direct visitors to parking (where relevant), and ask visitors their postcode and how they found out about the event. A Volunteer Information Pack will be provided so that volunteers have a good understanding of their tasks.

In addition, we need a few volunteers to assist with assembly, erection and dismantling of road signs that point the direction to each of the gardens. This task needs to be done in the 2-3 days immediately prior to and after the weekend.

When and where
Each garden will have four volunteers for the weekend (one volunteer/shift). Volunteers are asked to commit to a 3-hour shift, from either 10am to 1pm, or 1pm to 4pm, on Saturday 8 or Sunday 9th February.

The participating edible gardens will be located all across Bass Coast Shire. Where possible, we will match you with a garden near you. Volunteers will need their own transport to travel to the edible garden where they are working.

Get a free ticket!
In return for volunteering for a 3-hour shift, all volunteers will receive a free ticket to explore the Bass Coast Edible Gardens on the other day.
